Fragment series, by Paris-based artist Mona Oren ( pictured above ), captures petal-like micro particles of her wax sculptures. Hand-sculpted, each piece is unique, translucent, voluptuous, fragile yet powerful. These organic shapes created from wax– all highly emotional, primal, and alive –come from within and bring into existence, vulnerable, sensual and intimate emotions.
Celebrated for her visceral work in the medium of wax, Mona has been commissioned by Hermès, Chaumet, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Guerlain. Her work is exhibited internationally, and belongs to museums and private collections.
The Fragment series was created using a Hasselblad medium format camera with extension tubes to reach the magnification of the image.
